Frank Lampard is ready to reshape Chelsea’s squad. According to a report from the Times this Monday, the list of layoffs for the coach has names that were previously absolute holders and today are not part of the plans for the next season.

The biggest surprise on the list is the steering wheel K’Golo Kanté. Hired four years ago for 30 million euros, the Frenchman would not fit the style that Lampard wants to implement at Stamford Bridge. His departure would be a way to raise funds for new hires to take place. But shirt 7 is not the only one. The possible blue “barge” also includes goalkeeper Kepa, who cost 70 million euros two seasons ago, and midfielders Tiemoue Babayoko and Ross Barkley, who signed for 15 million euros.

The focus is on defense, which should undergo the greatest reformulation of all sectors. According to the Times, Lampard has already told Chelsea’s management that he does not have Kurt Zouma, Andreas Christensen, Emerson Palmieri, and Marcos Alonso. The idea is to hire new players and improve the defensive performance of the team. Last season, Chelsea were the most leaked among the clubs of the so-called Big 6, with 54 goals conceded, more than Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham.
